Principal Changes
Megan Janssen, currently Elementary Principal, St. Mark Catholic Elementary School is appointed as Elementary Principal, St. Isidore of Seville Catholic Virtual Elementary School, effective September 1, 2021 for the 2021-22 school year.
Rick Sheardown, currently Secondary Vice-Principal, Holy Cross Catholic High School will continue in that assignment and is also appointed as the Secondary Co-Principal of St. Josephine Bakhita Catholic Virtual Secondary School effective September 1, 2021 for the 2021-22 school year.
Dee Wojcik, currently Secondary Vice-Principal, Continuing and Alternative Education will continue in that assignment and is also appointed as the Secondary Co-Principal of St. Josephine Bakhita Catholic Virtual Secondary School effective September 1, 2021 for the 2021-22 school year.
Budget and Other Presentations
The Board of Trustees approved the preliminary 2021-22 operating budget expenditures of slightly more than $296 million. Other presentations focused on Maximizing Technology in a 21st Century Education System; Student Senate Leadership Session; Planning for September 2021; and A Reflection on Learning During and After COVID.
Elisabeth Steel Reurink – Children of the Light Memorial Scholarship Recipient
Director of the Elisabeth Steel Reurink Memorial Student Success Initiative and LDCSB Chair, Linda Steel presented the 2021 award to Anna Fox of St. Joseph’s Catholic High School. An Honourable Mention was presented to Victoria Kata of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Secondary School.
