Many of us have grown up with the myth that going outside in the cold or with wet hair will get us sick. Research has proven that various outdoor temperatures and being wet does not put us at any greater risk of getting sick. Viruses make us sick. These viruses are more easily transmitted indoors which is where we tend to spend more time during the colder months and during inclement weather.
The ‘common cold’ is caused by viruses (germs) that infect the nose, throat and sinuses. Colds are most common in the fall and winter when people are indoors and in close contact with each other…..Children with colds can still play outside. (caringforkids.cps.ca)
