St. Michael’s Catholic Elementary School, Woodstock Temporarily Closed Due to COVID Concerns

Due to three likely and/or confirmed positive COVID-19 cases, Southwestern Public Health (SWPH) has declared an outbreak at St. Michael’s Catholic Elementary School in Woodstock.

Since the cases affect staff in multiple different classrooms throughout the school as part of their regular duties, the LDCSB has made the decision to temporarily close the school, effective immediately.

This decision to temporarily close the school was made out of an abundance of caution to help ensure the health, safety and well-being of all 400-plus students and staff at the school.

The school will be closed until at least March 24 inclusive. During this temporary closure, students will continue their learning remotely. At the current time, it is anticipated that in-person classes will resume March 25.

SWPH is investigating the cases and will provide advice and support to the school community in navigating this situation.

The LDCSB posts information about all confirmed active cases here.
